
Jane Todd
- Program Manager for the Ontario Power Generation’s two Northwest Fossil plants which are located at Thunder Bay and Atikokan, Ontario.
- Based in Thunder Bay, Ontario
- Manages environmental and health and safety programming maintains ISO 14001 registered environmental management systems and OHSAS 18001 conforming health and safety systems at the sites
- Involved in site Public Affairs, MSc in Chemistry, Canadian Registered Safety Professional and a Project Management Professional
- Currently overseeing the biomass program at the two Northwest plants
- Thunder Bay GS has had experience with cofiring grain screening pellets and sawdust pucks
- Atikokan GS is associated with the Ontario Government’s Atikokan Bio-Energy Research Centre which is hosting six university/private partner projects which are examining various aspects of bio-energy use.
- Biomass testing for the purpose of studying the effect of biomass on various plant systems is ongoing, mainly at Atikokan GS but potentially at Thunder Bay GS as well
- Active member of corporate biomass focus group
- Active participant on several local environmental organizations, including Secretary to the Board of Ecosuperior (Thunder Bay’s Green Communities organization), Earthwise (the City of Thunder Bay Community Environmental Action Plan), the Zero Waste Action Team, the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority and the Lake Superior Binational Forum.
